The City of Ember

It’s assignment day! J Everybody is 12 and it is the last year of school, the mayor came to the class room and brought a small bag and little pieces of paper that has jobs on them. People have to get one pieces of paper and stick with what it says for 3years! Lina was one of the last ones and got the worst job! L She got pipe works! ( Some people died doing that job) She had her heart set on being a messenger the best job there is for her because Lina loves to run and the messenger gets to run all over town, the wind in her hair.

When she saw Doon (The last one to get a job) and when he got the paper and read “messenger” out loud, he throw it on the grown. Lina gasp that job was the best job in Ember. Doon wanted either pipe works or electricity helper because he knew that the city was dying and losing electricity. He wanted to help. Then after school Doon told Lina to trade jobs. Lina was shucked. But it was her favorite job so she traded. The next day she was at the messenger place. She was so happy. When she got to run she saw her self in a window she was thinking how pretty she looked with here hair in the air.

Lina Myfleet fond what the 7 mayor had lost. But Linas sister Poppy opened the beautiful box and was chewing on the papers. Then that night Lina was studying it. It was hard because most of the words missing or wet. But it was instruction s for egress. I don’t want to tell you any more abut the book. You will have to read it. (I bet your wondering what egress is but I’m not going to tell you.J)

I recommend this book to the people who like mysteries and a book that you will be wanting more.
