This mystery book is about a main character name Mallory and her friend Kristy. While looking for something they need at Kristy’s house they go to the attic. There, they find a trunk, and then they open the trunk and in the trunk, they find a diary. The diary was from long ago.

A family who lived at the same house as Kristy. Before she moved there. The diary belonged to a little girl named Sophie. Sophie died when she was about ten years old.

Therefore, Mallory, Kristy, and some other friends from the baby sitters club they try to do a séance.

(That means trying to communicant to the people who are dead.) So that Sophie could tell them about the things, she wrote in her diary. Like who framed her dad about stealing a picture of her mom long ago because, her mom died too. When Sophie was 6 years old, that is when the mom died.
