| Hello! I am SO excited about my new job as the principal of Endeavour! I started in the district in 1988 and taught just about everything for the next fifteen years, including special education, reading, and multi-age. Most of this time was in the intermediate grades, so I am a WASL pro! I never thought I would give up teaching, since I loved every minute, but somehow I slipped right into a Dean of Students role and found I loved it. About the same time that I began my Dean role, I also became the principal for the district’s elementary summer school program. I have had such a wonderful experience in this position, so becoming the Endeavour principal became another perfect opportunity in my career!
I am a native Seattleite, but with a twist. I also claim a second “hometown”, Deadwood, South Dakota – talk about a whole different way of life! With my three brothers and one sister, we spent part of each year in Deadwood exploring gold mines, entertaining tourists, and riding horses – and attending every Harley Davidson rally in Sturgis! As about a ninth generation principal, getting more education was never a question. I have a BA in Elementary Education from Seattle Pacific University, with endorsements in Early Childhood Special Education and K-12 Special Education. I also have a M. Ed in Curriculum & Instruction and my administrative training from City University.
When not at work, I love spending time or talking with my two daughters. Kate is a designer in LA, and Flori just graduated. She is about to go visit her family in Guatemala for the first time in nine years! Then it’s off to college for her! A few things I love are to travel, read, hike, tell stories, and be involved in community service activities.
I look forward to meeting all the students and families at Endeavour. We are going to have a wonderful first year together! |
