PARENT INFORMATION

WASL TESTING/FREE BREAKFAST

We will be on special class schedules April 22, 23, 24 for WASL testing. Students will test first thing in the morning and have a shortened schedule (periods 1 to 6) following the tests. Nutrition Services will be offering FREE breakfast to ALL students through May 2. Students may enter the building at 7:55A on those days if they are having breakfast.

PTO MEETING

Tana Snyder, counselor, group facilitator and educational consultant, is the guest speaker for the PTO Meeting this Tuesday evening at 7:30P in the HP Library. She will be speaking on internet/video game obsession/addiction. She will also offer suggestions for creating a more balanced, healthier home environment. Please feel free to bring guests who might benefit from this presentation.

READ TO FEED

Harbour Pointe 6th graders will begin the Heifer International "Read to Feed" fundraiser this week with a "kick-off" assembly on Friday. Students will gather sponsors and read to raise money to purchase livestock for families living in underdeveloped areas of the world. Community and Service hours can be earned for this activity.

GREY HOODIES
Orders for grey hoody sweatshirts or emblems added to sweatshirts will be accepted April 21 to 30. Turn in order forms or sweatshirts with order forms (for emblems) to Student Services or to Mr. Nelson, Athletic Director along with your check made payable to: Harbour Pointe Middle School. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR OF CLOTHING CENTER/SCHOOL BELL NEEDED

The school district is still in need of a new coordinator or two people willing to share the School Bell Volunteer Coordinator position. If you are interested or would like to know more, contact Anita Harris, School Nurse at Discovery and Olivia Park Elementary Schools (harrisaf@mukilteo.wednet.edu).

8th GRADE PARENT INFORMATION

DANCE TEAM TRY-OUTS

Clinics and try-outs for the 2008-2009 Kamiak Dance Team are this week, April 21 to 24, in the Kamiak Main Gym from 3:15-5:15P.

"WELCOME TO KAMIAK" DANCE

Students who will be an incoming freshman at Kamiak High School in the fall of 2008 are invited to attend a “Welcome to Kamiak Dance” on Friday, May 16th from 7 to 9P in the Kamiak Commons. Tickets will be on sale during 8th grade lunch at HP on May 7, 14 and 15. Tickets are $7 presale and $8 at the door. Pizza ($2) and water ($1) will be sold at the dance. The dance is sponsored by next year’s Senior Class parents and they want to assure you it will be well chaperoned!
