HOLIDAY HELP

Is your family in need of help this Holiday season? Christmas House provides holiday gifts for qualifying low-income Snohomish County families with children aged 18 or younger. If you are in need this season, please contact your child’s counselor for more information: Mrs. Hamilton (A-K) or Mrs. Huber (L-Z).

COMMUNITY AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Two great C&S opportunities are available to put you and your students in the holiday spirit – Singing Christmas Carols at Top Foods in exchange for a donation to a local food bank and Wrapping Gifts for Needy Families. FIRST TRIMESTER STUDENT OF THE MONTH BREAKFAST

Reminder to parents and guardians of first trimester students of the month: You should have received a letter inviting you and your student to a recognition breakfast THIS Wednesday at 7:45A in the HPMS Library. SPEAKER FOR MLK ASSEMBLY

Our Martin Luther King Day Assembly will be held the morning of January 17th. The theme for our assembly will be “I have a dream…” and we are looking for a guest speaker who has risen through adversity to fulfill their dream(s). If you know of someone you feel is a match and would be an inspirational speaker, please contact Mr. Nelson (nelsondo@mukilteo.wednet.edu) or Mrs. Riccardo (riccardoae@mukilteo.wednet.edu).

PTO ANNUAL BOOK FAIR

The PTO Book Fair continues through this Wednesday. Proceeds from the Book Fair buy books for the HPMS Library! The Book Fair is open each day before (8 – 8:20A) and after (3 – 4P) school, during before (6:30 – 7P) and after (8 – 9P) the band concert on Tuesday, and during lunches on Wednesday.

INTRODUCTION TO THE SPRING MUSICAL – DATE CHANGE

The date for the introduction to the Spring Musical has been changed to Thursday, December 20th. This intro will be held 3 to 4:10P in the Choir/Orchestra Room.

NJHS – DATE CHANGE
This month’s NJHS meeting has been changed to Wednesday, December 19th.

FROM THE KAMIAK PTO

Kamiak PTO presentation: Drug/Alcohol Parent Forum on December 12th, 6:30 – 8:30P in the Kamiak Commons. All community members are welcome.

KNIGHTS HOLIDAY HOOPS CAMP

Mukilteo students (grades 3 to 8) are invited to participate in the Knights Holiday Hoops Camp on December 27th and 28th from 9A to noon in the KHS Gym. Cost is $60. For more information and a registration form, contact me and I will email you a flyer.

GEOGRAPHY BEE

The Geography Bee preliminary round will be on January 10th and the final round on January 16th. Students may sign up for the Bee in Student Services and pick up a list of websites to study from. The Geography Bee is open to all students. Advisor: Mrs. Riccardo

TUE Concert 7P in the HPMS Gym

All families, students, and friends are invited to a reception following the concert. Each student has been asked to bring the following refreshments according to grade: 6th and 8th grade: 1 dozen doughnuts or 18-24 cookies and 7th grade: 1 half case (or 12 bottles) of water, juice, or pop. Please bring the items to the lunchroom just prior to the concert.
