FROM THE CROSSING GUARDS

A big THANK YOU to all the parents for their courteous driving this morning!! As they battled signs, oversized rain gear, icy rain blowing sideways, and jumped and often landed in large rivers of water, they really appreciated everyone driving slowly and anticipating the stop sign!

INTRODUCTION TO THE SPRING MUSICAL

An introduction to the Spring Musical will be held this Thursday from 3 to 4:10P in the Choir/Orchestra Room. Pointers will be given about the overall schedule, rehearsal policies, and techniques for auditions. Auditions for the Spring Musical are open to all students. The 15th Spring Musical at HP will be announced the first week of January. Director: Mrs. Riccardo

FROM THE KAMIAK PTO

Kamiak PTO presentation: Drug/Alcohol Parent Forum on December 12th, 6:30 – 8:30P in the Kamiak Commons.

Drugs and Alcohol use is a major concern for all parents AND students. Drug and Alcohol use is a COMMUNITY ISSUE.  Our homes and our schools ARE the community.  ALL ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!  Your child DOES NOT need to attend Kamiak!  This applies to all parents who are concerned.

Topics and presenters scheduled to attend: "What should I look for?  What slang terms should I be listening for?" Denise Bathurst - Prevention/Intervention Specialist for Kamiak/OV/HP - will present on warning signs and symptoms; "What is the prevalent drug of choice in Snohomish County?  What is being done? What can I do?" Detective Dave Chitwood - Snohomish County Sheriff - will present on what parents need to do to safeguard their home.  He will also speak to the trends they are seeing in the County, and will especially address prescription drug use. Question & Answer period Ms. Judith Murdoch, Executive Director of Secondary Education for the Mukilteo School District, along with the above presenters will answer your questions regarding the presentation itself, or anything else you might want to know about this.

Please plan to join us for an informative AND important meeting.
