PARENT INFORMATION

SPRING MUSICAL

Auditions for the Spring Musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” are February 11th and 12th with “callback” on February 13th. The cast list will be posted on Friday, February 15th.

SPELLING BEE

Finalists for the Spelling Bee will meet on February 13th in the library at 3:15P.  Students can access the www.myspellit.com website for practice suggestions and word lists.

CANDY GRAMS

Candy Grams will be sold by NJHS before school and during lunches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, February 11th to 13th. Candy grams will be delivered on Valentines Day during 6th period. Each gram is $1 and includes a sucker plus a personal message. Parents may purchase candy grams during these times or stop by the Main Office to order.

7th and 8TH GRADE BAND PARENT CHAPERONES NEEDED

Chaperones are needed for the following trips.  If you would like to volunteer, please make sure you have turned in the necessary papers in to the main office. Please e-mail Mr. Moody to confirm that you will be a chaperone (moodysj@mukilteo.wednet.edu). Unfortunately, if we do not have enough parent volunteers, the trips will be canceled.

March 13th 11:30A - 3:50P; Sno-King Band Festival, 7th Grade Concert Band & 8th Grade Symphonic Band (5-6 more 8th grade chaperones needed; 2-3 more 7th grade chaperones needed)

 

April 26th 7:00A - 7:00P; Wenatchee Apple Blossom Parade 7th & 8th Grade Marching Band (8 more 8th grade chaperones needed; 7 more 7th grade chaperones needed)

 

May 17th 8:30A - 7:00P; Port Townsend Rhododendron Parade 7th & 8th Grade Marching Band (8 more 8th grade chaperones needed; 7 more 7th grade chaperones needed)

 

June 7th 6:30A - 7:30P; Music In The Parks Festival & Wild Waves 7th & 8th Grade Marching Band, 7th Grade Concert Band & 8th Grade Symphonic Band (8 more 8th grade chaperones needed; 8 more 7th grade chaperones needed)

 

COMMUNITY AND SERVICE

The Columbia Elementary Spelling Bee is on Thursday, March 27th at 6P. They are looking for student volunteers from HPMS to help guide the entrants from the check-in desk to the various classrooms where each grade level bee will be held. Volunteers should be at Columbia at 5:30P. Anyone who would like to volunteer should contact Pam Gompf at pam@bracket.com. FROM THE PTO

HP PTO is continuing to provide the opportunity to recycle cell phones and ink jet cartridges to raise funds.  There’s nothing to buy. We are simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used digital cell phone(s) and ink jet cartridge(s). And now you can also recycle DVD movie(s)/ video game(s), and various consumer electronics. Your used item(s) may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and sold.  100% of the proceeds will help fund the HP PTO. Your support is greatly appreciated!!! Please keep sending your items in...the collection box is located in the Main Office. TUE Music Boosters Meeting, 7P Choir and Orchestra Room

Representatives from Kamiak Performing Arts Boosters will be talking about the Ivars fundraising at Mariner Games this spring and summer.  If you have an 8th grade student - please plan to attend and find out more! Immediately after the meeting Band parents will be gathering to discuss the 2009 Disney Trip!
