PARENT INFORMATION

SPRING MUSICAL

Audition sheets for the Spring Musical, “The Wizard of Oz” can be picked up in the Library.  They permission slips (signed by parents) are due back to the Library by Thursday, February 7^th.  When the slips are returned, the students may pick up a “practice sheet.” Auditions are February 11^th and 12^th with “callback” on February 13^th.  The cast list will be posted on Friday, February 15^th.

WRESTLING TURN OUTS – 6^th Graders Invited

6^th graders are invited to join in as intramural participants this year for wrestling.  Intramural participants will turn out with the wrestling team daily.  While 6^th graders are not allowed to compete against other schools or travel to away matches, they will be learning skills that will jump start their wrestling careers next year.

In order to participate, intramural athletes must complete the same paperwork that all other athletes do and must have a current physical on file in the athletics office.  They also must stay academically eligible.  Athletics eligibility packets are available in Student Services, the Athletics office and online at the HP website.

ASTHMA CLUB

Asthma Club will be held on Thursday in N206 from 3-4P. The topic will be Changing Asthma Inhalers – CFC vs HFC and Our Environment.  Advisor:  Ms. Thorsen

SPELLING BEE

Language Arts classrooms are holding competitions to decide finalists for the Spelling Bee to be held February 13^th in the library at 3:15P.  Students can access the www.myspellit.com website for practice suggestions and word lists.

Sign-ups for 8th graders are with Mrs. Skowyra.  Competitions for 8th grade finalists will be held after school in W212 this Wednesday, February 6^th. 

Students are encouraged to talk with their Language Arts teacher to find out more details about how to get involved.

CANDY GRAMS

Candy Grams will be sold by NJHS before school and during lunches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, February 11^th to 13^th).  Candy grams will be delivered on Valentines Day during 6^th period.  Each gram is $1 and includes a sucker plus a personal message.  Parents may purchase candy grams during these times or stop by the Main Office to order.
