PARENT INFORMATION

6th GRADE SOCIAL

The first 6th Grade WEB Social will take place THIS WEDNESDAY, October 28th from 3 to 4P.  Ice cream will be served followed by a fun activity.  All 6th graders are invited to attend and an activity bus will be provided for those who ride buses.  Otherwise, parents should pick up students at 4P.

 

NO HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

We will not be wearing Halloween costumes at school this year. Students who wear costumes to school on Friday will be asked to change into PE clothes or call parents to bring a change of clothes.

 

PTO SPIRIT WEAR

PTO Spirit Wear ordered earlier this fall will be distributed during lunches on Friday.  Those students who placed orders should stop by the table outside Student Services during their lunch.

 

PTO GREENERY SALE

The 17th Annual HPMS PTO Greenery Sale begins this Friday.  Order forms will go home with students or you can link to a copy of the form on the HP website:  http://schools.mukilteo.wednet.edu/hp/pages/PDFforms/PoinsettiaWreathOrderform2009.pdf

Poinsettias, wreaths, garlands and centerpieces are available.  All orders are prepaid and must be turned in at the PTO Box in the Main Office no later than November 6th.  They will be distributed on Monday, November 23rd between 3:30 and 6:30P.

 

COMMUNITY AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
The HP website has a few Community and Service Opportunities listed that are coming up – 6th Grade Project: Halloween treats for Children’s Hospital (TOMORROW), helping at the Mukilteo Library Book Sale, and Mukilteo Library Volunteers (various Saturdays).  For more info: http://schools.mukilteo.wednet.edu/hp/departments/CommunityandService/candspage.htm

 

VETERAN’S DAY:  A WALK TO REMEMBER

In the next few days your student will be asked to complete forms to hang on our “A Walk to Remember” Memorial Wall in the Great Hall for those relatives and friends that have served or are currently serving in the Armed Services.  Please encourage your students to fill out and return before our Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 10th.  Forms completed by 6th and 7th students will be saved and hung again the next year.

 

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Congratulations to the following students who will be our NJHS Officers for 2009-2010:  Julie Yoon, President; Michael Hong, Vice President; Cherie Ruan, Secretary; and Will Kramer, Treasurer.  The next NJHS meeting will be Wednesday, November 18th in the Commons.

 

8th GRADE EAST COAST TRIP

If you were unable to attend the meeting, contact Mrs. Riccardo at Ext. 5472.  The cutoff date for signing up to go to Washington,  D.C. and New York City over Spring Break is December 8th.
