CURRICULUM NIGHT – FROM THE HP PTO

At Curriculum Night, the PTO will have a table with membership forms, directory forms (needs to be completed to include your student in the Student Directory; forms may be turned in at Curriculum Night or no later than October 2nd to Student Services) and samples of Spirit Wear/forms to purchase Spirit Wear (forms may be turned in at Curriculum Night or no later than October 2nd to the PTO Locked Box in the Main Office).

Ticket sales begin today 9/21 for the upcoming Harbour Pointe Music Boosters Auction.  You may purchase your tickets tomorrow night during "Curriculum Night" 9/22.  Ticket cost is $42.50 per person.  Look for the Music Boosters table to purchase your tickets and find out about our annual dinner auction.  Our annual auction is our sole fundraiser that supports all music programs - Choir, Orchestra and Band.

MAGAZINE DRIVE/COOKIE DOUGH SALE FUNDRAISER

Our annual school fundraiser is underway.  You have the opportunity to renew current magazine subscriptions, buy new and gift subscriptions, and purchase assorted Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough and products.  All proceeds come back to the ASB fund.

NOTE:  There will only be ONE turn in date this year for orders – before school on Thursday, October 1st.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

National Junior Honor Society was originally founded in 1921.  Each chapter throughout the United States incorporates the goals of Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character.  The National Junior Honor Society recognizes students in grades seven and eight while the National Honor Society begins in grade ten.  At HP, students are recognized and invited to join NJHS if their third trimester GPA in 6th or 7th grade was a 3.85.  Students must maintain this GPA to remain in NJHS.   Our Harbor Pointe chapter focuses on community service while giving special notice to the student’s academic achievements. NJHS letters will be going out to perspective students the first part of October.  Any questions should be addressed to Mrs. DeKlyen or Mrs. Riccardo, Co-Advisors.

8th GRADE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WASHINGTON D.C. AND NYC

From Mrs. Riccardo:  Any 8th grader interested in going to the East Coast over our upcoming Spring Break?  There will be a NON-SCHOOL SPONSORED opportunity for our graduating class to see Washington DC and New York City, through the very well known EF Smithsonian Student Travel.  Brochures will be handed out through the 8th grade Humanities classes.  Any parent who would like more specific information, please contact Mrs. Riccardo.   Stay tuned for an informational meeting the first part of October.
