PARENT INFORMATION
SPIRIT T-SHIRT DAY
Grade level Spirit T-Shirts are available for purchase in
the Student Store for $10 each. Proceeds from the sales benefit the ASB
fund. Each grade level wears a specific color t-shirt (6th: white,
“Super Six”; 7th: light blue, “Stuck in the Middle”; 8th:
dark blue, “Respect Your Elders”). Starting on Wednesday (and twice a
month for the rest of the school year), students will be asked to show their
school spirit by wearing their grade level t-shirts. Each time the student
wears their t-shirt on an assigned day, they will receive a raffle ticket to put
into a box in Student Services for various prizes.
MAGAZINE DRIVE/COOKIE DOUGH TURN IN
This year there is only ONE turn in date –
THIS THURSDAY before school. This is our
only all school fundraiser for the year. All earnings from the event go to
the ASB fund in support of athletic uniforms and equipment, music festival entry
fees, assembly speakers, after school clubs and activities (including intramural
sports), grade level celebrations, the spring musical, student awards and
incentives, and MUCH, MUCH more!! If each student sells just three orders,
we will easily reach our $40,000 sales goal! Your support of HPMS is
greatly appreciated.
FROM THE HP MUSIC BOOSTERS
Tickets are on sale now for the upcoming Harbour Pointe Music Boosters Auction on Saturday, November 21st. Ticket cost is $42.50 per person. The first 100 tickets sold will receive five free raffle tickets so order your tickets now! Our annual auction is our sole fundraiser that supports all music programs - Choir, Orchestra and Band. A copy of the form can be printed by going to: http://www.hpmusicboosters.com/auction/HPMB2009AuctionTickt%20OrderForm.pdf
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
National Junior Honor Society recognizes students in grades seven and eight. At HP, students are recognized and invited to join NJHS if their third trimester GPA in 6th or 7th grade is a 3.85. Students must maintain this GPA to remain in NJHS. Our Harbor Pointe chapter focuses on community service while giving special notice to the student’s academic achievements. NJHS letters will be going out to perspective students the first part of October. Any questions should be addressed to Mrs. DeKlyen or Mrs. Riccardo, Co-Advisors.
8th GRADE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WASHINGTON D.C. AND NYC
From Mrs. Riccardo: Any 8th grader interested in going to the East Coast
over our upcoming Spring Break? There will be a NON-SCHOOL SPONSORED
opportunity for our graduating class to see Washington DC and New York City,
through the very well known EF Smithsonian Student Travel. Brochures will be
handed out through the 8th grade Humanities classes. Any parent
who would like more specific information, please contact Mrs. Riccardo.
Stay tuned for an informational meeting the first part of October.
