PARENT INFORMATION

PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS TO STUDENTS

Students were given the opportunity this morning to hear President Obama’s Speech to America’s Students during first period.  Any student not wishing to hear the speech was given the option to go to the Main Office Conference Room and read or do school work.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

School photos will be taken Wednesday during Math classes.  All students will have their photo taken.  If you wish to purchase the photos, students MUST bring the completed form and payment on WEDNESDAY.  Checks should be made payable to “QSP”.

FROM THE CROSSING GUARDS

Thank you for a GREAT first week!  Just a few reminders:  The speed limit is 20MPH.  Only buses are allowed at the front of the school during drop off and pick up.  Students should be dropped at the Back Entrance.  You can also drop your student across from the Main Entrance on 50th Avenue.  The crossing guards will cross your student and stop traffic to get you back onto Harbour Pointe Blvd.  Lines may be long during these times so plan accordingly – especially on rainy days!

COMMUNITY AND SERVICE

Students at HP are required to complete at least ten hours of community service each year.  Volunteer opportunities are posted on the HP website at (http://schools.mukilteo.wednet.edu/hp/departments/CommunityandService/candspage.htm), on the Community and Service bulletin board, and in a notebook in the Main Office.

Check the website for more information on an opportunity to help as a volunteer at the Mukilteo Lighthouse Parade this Saturday.  Consider joining your child – what better way to show them the importance of giving back to their community and to others then by setting an example!

CROSS COUNTRY TURN OUT OPEN TO 6th GRADE STUDENTS

Any 6th graders who would like to turn out with the Cross Country Team are invited to join the fun.  Please note: 6th Graders may NOT participate in the meets.  Practice is from 3 to 5P (you will need your own transportation home).  6th Graders will also need to complete the Athletic Packet (including a physical) and have it on file with the Athletic Director before they can participate.  Packets are available in the Main Office and Student Services.  Students must also purchase an ASB card.
