Kamiak High School and the Kamiak PTO are pleased to continue their relationship with Kaplan Test Prep.
The Kamiak PTO presents this program to help our students prepare for the PSAT Test, and their college careers.
 
Sophomore Families:
You will be receiving a letter from the Kamiak PTO/Kaplan.  Please do not discard!  It has additional information regarding this course!
 
Freshman Families:
You will not be receiving the mailing at this time.  However, if you and your student decide that this is a good time to take this MOCK PSAT, you are more than welcome to join us.
 
Why take and prepare for the PSAT? (from Kaplan)
* The PSAT can give students an indication of how they will perform on the SAT.  Students can find their strengths and weaknesses and focus on the right preparation to excel on the actual SAT.
* High PSAT scores can open doors to National Merit Scholarships and other awards (this applies to Juniors only)
* For students planning to prepare for the SAT, Kaplan's PSAT preparation is included at no additional charge!
* If a school requires students to take the PSAT, the students should be fully prepared and familiar with the test.  Taking the PSAT without preparation and doing poorly as a result can hurt a student's confidence, which can have lingering negative effects when taking the ACT or the SAT.
 
The follow-up seminar is included in the $10 fee. STUDENTS AND PARENTS are invited to pick up their test results.  Kaplan experts will also help with test strategies, find out more about standardized tests and the college admissions process.
