Text Box: Cookie Dough Time!
 
It is once again time for our annual cookie dough fundraiser!  Students will be taking orders for tubs of cookie dough beginning on Wednesday, September 28, and continuing until Tuesday, October 11.  The Masterpiece cookies are delicious, and the tubs make it easy to have hot, homemade cookies any time!  All proceeds go to the PTA to be used for our kids for field trips, assemblies, Family Nights, and much, much more!  Students are encouraged to pitch in and sell to family and friends, but NOT to go door to door.  There are prizes for individuals, as well as special all-school and class incentives.  Participating in this fundraiser is optional, but ALL students benefit from the funds raised.  Thank you in advance for helping make this year’s cookie dough fundraiser the best ever!  Cookie dough pick-up day will be Wednesday, October 26.

*The PTA general membership meeting dates have changed.  We now meet on Mondays every other month.

*Please remember to check your calendars for PTA meetings.  You will have the opportunity for input on purchases and events and make decisions that result in a successful Odyssey PTA.  Also, please watch for flyers and agenda items.  Child care will be provided in the multi-purpose room (no children in diapers).

Volunteers Wanted for the 2009 - 20010 School Year!
As you know, the Odyssey PTA attempts to sponsor many student and family activities (Movie Night, Skate Night, field trips, assemblies, etc.) throughout the year.  All of these activities require time and energy to plan and carry out successfully.  We're always looking for folks who are willing and able to donate some time to help.  If you're interested in volunteering to help chair committees for next year (Skate Night, Movie Night) or be a member of a committee, please let us know at ptaodyssey@yahoo.com.

Fundraisers

The Great American Fundraiser earned a total of $15,659!  Thank you to parents and students for your efforts in selling!  We'll keep you posted as soon as fundraiser items come in.

New Fundraising Programs

In an effort to serve Odyssey families better, the PTA is excited to implement new no cost fundraising opportunities while still continuing to provide family and student activities throughout the year.  Families can help earn money for Odyssey through their everyday transactions and by turning in specific product UPC codes that can be submitted to manufacturers for funds and products.

The goal of the PTA is to use the upcoming school year to establish these programs so that fundraisers requiring students to become salespeople will not be necessary in years to come.  With your help, our kids can still enjoy favorite activities like Movie Night, bulb planting, assembly programs and free field trip transportation without also needing to participate in catalog fundraisers.

Some of the fund raising programs include:  Albertsons Preferred Cards, the Campbell's Soup Label program, Boxtops for Education, and eScrip.

If you know of other fundraising opportunities that can happen at no cost to Odyssey families, please bring information regarding those programs to Back-to-School Night in September.  Stop by the PTA table to share that information and learn how you can help make Odyssey a part of that program.
