Dr. Karen Reid,
Principal
Serene Lake
serves students with a strong academic program, a wide and extensive student recognition program, and ongoing partnership with parents and community. Our goal is to help students reach their maximum potential academically and behaviorally.
We have high expectations for our students, with an emphasis on maintaining a safe school
environment. We stress respect for others and taking ownership for choices made at school. We offer a variety of
co-curricular opportunities and our Sprout House (greenhouse)
enriches our science curriculum. We proudly take our fifth grade students to Camp Seymour each year.
School History
Serene Lake was built in 1969 and underwent a remodel in 1993 and again in 1996. We have 22 classrooms, a multi-purpose room, library, computer lab, music room, outdoor covered play area, and greenhouse. Our classrooms and outdoor facilities are used extensively by the community.
Volunteering
At Serene Lake we welcome volunteers to help in many areas including the classroom, school projects, field trips, and especially as a mentor in our Lunch Buddy program. We appreciate guest speakers and career awareness opportunities. Volunteers are important to ensuring our students' success in school.
At Home
Parental involvement is a primary key to your child's performance at school. You can help by having a designated area and time for homework, and by encouraging you child to read for fun and enjoyment. Please monitor television, games and viewing, and encourage reading and creative play.
