SCHOLARSHIPS

Listed below are some of the scholarships which can be used as a references for possible scholarship offerings.  For information regarding these scholarships, please contact the College & Career Center, Room E103, Mariner High School, 425-356-1700 or e-mail Mrs. Young.

Students are encouraged to get applications early so that the applications can be completed and mailed before the deadlines.  Students should allow sufficient time for counselors and/or teachers to write letters of recommendation if recommendations are required as part of the scholarship application.

It is important to realize that the following does not list every possible source of financial aid.  Students and parents should consult the financial aid officer for the college the student plans to attend for information on securing scholarships and financial assistance for that particular university.  Also, parents and students are encouraged to use web-sites and other resources that are available in the College & Career Center at Mariner High School.

Scholarships/Becas

For ALL Students Regardless of Immigration Status

In order to qualify for state and federal financial aid, students must be legal permanent residents or citizens. If a student is not yet a legal permanent resident, they should look to private scholarships to help with expenses. The scholarships on this list do not require a social security number, legal residency, or citizenship.  As a general rule, if an application asks for your social security number and you do not have one yet, leave that space blank but fill out and turn in the application.  Lying about your legal status or providing a false social security is a federal offense.  Family saving and fundraising can also supplement educational costs.
