Writing

Skills:

Sentences- There are three types of sentences; asking, telling, and and strong emotion. Ask your child to tell you what each  type is and give you an example.

Conventions- Sentences start with capitals and end with punctuation. There is space between words. The spelling had been checked. The paper looks polished.

Nouns- Person, place or thing. Ask your child to name a noun and tell whether it is a person, place, or thing.

Verbs- action words. Ask your child to give an example of a verb.

Phonics

Short a- Jack, Short i- Jill, Short o Todd, Short u- Buck

Ask your child to sing you the song!

Math

Unit 2 Vocabulary: difference, sum, and equation. Be sure to review the meanings of these with your kiddos!

Unit 2 will wrap up soon. Ask your child to share with you about fact families, frames and arrows, and what's my rule. Be sure to be reviewing addition facts daily.
