What's in a Name? Dinosaur Invasion Spider Parts
This multi-step activity provides children with prefix and suffix practice within the context of dinosaur names.  It was created with Microsoft Excel. This project based learning activity was created in 2003 by a team of Mukilteo School District second grade teachers.   It took my class a good three to four weeks to go through the process, but it was well worth it.  Students finished with a PowerPoint story they had written about a dinosaur in their own time period. This PowerPoint activity provides students with a chance to practice identifying and naming spider parts on pictures of real life spiders.  Not all pictures have all parts showing, which forces the children to reason through their selections.
Halloween Picture Poem A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words
This project originally came from educationworld.com .  I have modified it to include a survey that allows students to see their results, and use a Publisher document to try and communicate with pictures.
