Year at a Glance
This is an overview of the events and activities that we have worked on in previous years. We may not get a chance to do all of them, but we will accomplish as many as we can!

Read-Aloud: Send Flat Stanley across America Poem of the Month Book Report: Realistic Fiction Reading: Introduce Workshop Model and notebooks, Making Connections, Visualizing, Questioning/ Begin "Letters to Ms. Reed"
Writing: Personal Narrative writing/ Launching the Writing Workshop Spelling: Take test in Words their Way to find placement Social Studies: WA State studies and geography (Make topographical maps of Washington state!)/ Write letters to people across the world!
 
Math: Geometry- 2-d shapes, using our blue math templates Earth Science: Water Exploration - we will Special: we will begin weekly newspaper studies!

Also, we will meet our second grade buddies!
