About Me
Hello! My name is Shelley Santti, and this is my ninth year here
at Discovery Elementary School. The early part of my career was spent
teaching preschool. Early childhood education was an enjoyable and
rewarding job, but I felt pulled to teach at the elementary level and
returned to school to earn my degree. My Bachelor's degree was earned
at Western Washington University, and my Master's was earned at Walden
University. I spent my first six years at Discovery teaching fourth
grade, and this is my third year as a literacy specialist for our school.
My role includes providing reading support to first and second grade
students, writing support to all students at our school, and working with
teachers to fine-tune their literacy instruction. In addition, I
assess and monitor students from across the school in reading and writing.
Teaching the students and working with the staff at Discover is a joy, and I
am glad to be in this role once again this year.
