Background: Mr. Stelling was born in Anchorage, Alaska. He then moved to Whidbey island in the sixth grade and still lives there today on five acres of land. He is happily married to his wife, Carolyn. Together, they have two daughters: Kyla, and Lauren.
Schooling & Work Experiences: Mr. Stelling graduated from Langley High School, where he was a varsity football player and boy of the year during his senior year. He attended Pacific Lutheran University " PLU " where he graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with minors in Marketing and Psychology. He continued at PLU as a Resident Hall Director and earned his education credentials in Secondary Social Sciences. His first teaching job was at Langley M.S. where he was selected as one of two first year outstanding teachers in the state of Washington. At Langley he taught English, Social Studies, Health, P.E., and Reinforcement Math. He coached middle school wrestling and football. He also coached high school girls' softball and high school wrestling. In 1992, he went back to PLU and graduated with a Masters Degree in Educational Counseling. In the year 2000, Mr. Stelling and his family were selected to go to Australia on a teacher/counselor exchange where he counseled students at Beenleigh High School. Mr. Stelling worked as a counselor at Harbour Pointe Middle School in Mukilteo for ten years. He also is a Head Football Coach and Head Wrestling Coach at Harbour Pointe Middle School. Today, Mr. Stelling works as a counselor at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo and works with students with last names A-C.
Hobbies/Interests: Mr. Stelling loves fishing and camping in the great outdoors, playing guitar, coaching sports ( football and wrestling), and playing on his computer. Someday Mr. Stelling would like to return to Australia for a visit.
