Welcome
to Mrs. Wayman's Math Support and Resources!

If
kids can't learn the way I teach, I must teach the
way they learn! |
About Mrs. Wayman,
our Math Specialist
My
family and me: Earl and I have been married for
38 years! We have three wonderful daughters and five grandchildren!
Gina,
our oldest is a teacher in the Lake Washington School District.
She teaches second grade. She and her husband Dan have three
children; Tyler, Maya and Jonathon. They live just a couple
miles from us in Redmond and we love seeing them as often
as we can!
Natalie
lives in Olympia with her husband, Darrin and two children
Jackson and Isabella. Natalie is an RN at Children's Hospital
in Seattle. Although we do not see them as often as we do
Gina and her family, we cherish every moment we see them!
Brigitte,
our youngest is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University.
She has done lots of traveling and now lives in Seattle.
We anticipate she will move to Los Angeles, CA soon. We
are sad about that but understand she has to explore options
and locations before she decides what she will do now that
she is done with school.
We are
very blessed with our family!
My work at Discovery: This is my 5th year
at Discovery Elementary. The first three years here, I taught
5th grade. Last year, I became a math specialist for our
building. In that role, I have a variety of responsibilities.
I work with small groups of students, manage and track math
data from building wide assessments as well as coach teachers.
I love my job! Although I've been teaching for 31 years
now, I still feel like I learn new things every day!
My interests/hobbies: My spare time is
used seeing my grandchildren and children, reading, as well
as working as an Educational Consultant. The name of my
company is "Kids First." For me, that
says it all!
What I want people to remember me for:
I would love to be remembered for truly caring about my
students and our entire school community.
What makes Discovery special? I worried
about changing school districts and coming to Discovery.
I had been in my previous district for 17 years. I never
dreamt I would love it here like I do! I love that our staff
comes from all walks of life and together, we cherish diversity!
Our community cares about their school, their staff, and
their students! As a professional, I am encouraged to grow
and explore new opportunities!
